Linnea

Coffee poured from a kettle into a ceramic cup

Grove Street · West Village

Coffee, pastry,
and the long morning.

A quiet room for people who still take their first cup seriously. Walk in. The table is first come.

The house

Named for a small flower that prefers the shade.

Mira Solberg opened Linnea after years buying green coffee and running a pastry bench in Copenhagen. The cafe is not a stage. It is a room with good light, a serious mill, and enough space to sit without performing.

We roast in small lots, laminate before dawn, and keep the menu short enough that every cup and plate can be made with attention. There is no booking page. Come when you want the morning to last.

What we are pouring →

01

The cup

One mill. Rotating origins. Espresso pulled for sweetness, not theatre. Pour-overs made to the table, never held on a hot plate.

02

The pastry

Butter, flour, and patience. Croissants leave the oven at seven and do not return. If you want one, arrive while the street is still quiet.

03

The room

Stone, oak, and linen. Two window seats that are never reserved. Laptops do not own the morning. Newspapers still live here.

From the house

A morning, in three frames.

Visit

Walk in. The room is first come.

We do not take appointments. If the window seats are taken, the bar is still open — and the coffee is the same from either side.
